Fred Abernethy a son of the late Alex A. and Emma Abernthy, was born in California on October, 1877, and died in Chicago, Ill., on Friday, Nov. 27, 1931, aged 54 years.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother and a sister Lulu. He leaves to mourn his loss two brothers, Earl of Postville - and Lynn of Pasadena, Calif., three nephews and a niece.

Fred lived in and around Postville for a number of years, until 1910, and was well and favorably known here. In 1910 he moved to St. Paul, where he resided until 1923, when he located in Chicago, where he passed away as above stated, word of his demise reaching here last Friday in a message to his brother Earl.

Arrangements were at once made for the shipment of the body here, and on Sunday afternoon last after a brief service from the Schutte Funeral Home conducted by Rev. R. F. Galloway of the Community Presbyterian church, interment was made in the family plot in Postville cemetery.
