Former Local Lady Passes on Tuesday.

A phone message to Mrs. H. J. Schuette of this city on Tuesday informed her of the death at Lake Park, Iowa, at five o'clock that morning of Mrs. Ama Sprague, a former well known Postville lady, her demise following a protracted period of failing health. Deceased was a daughter of Mrs. Sarah Dresser of Galesburg, Ill. The funeral will be held at Spencer today.

Ama Irene Dresser was the daughter of Alonzo Harvey Dresser and Sarah Samantha Smith. Ama was born 17 March 1883 in Post township, Allamakee County, Iowa. Ama died 6 April 1937 at Spencer, Clay County, Iowa. She married Charles Coleman Sprague 1 January 1909 in Postville, Iowa. Charles was born 8 August 1877 in Clayton County, Iowa and died 8 September 1966 in Marion, Linn County, Iowa.

They had 3 children:
1. Paul Coleman Sprague
2. Ross Dresser Sprague *
3. Faye Arlene Sprague who married Mervin Frank Miller

*In the obituary for Alonzo Harvey Dresser, Ross is listed as "Rose" Sprague. Ross was a grandson -- not a granddaughter.
