Frank Roffman, 76, Pioneer Of Franklin, Passes On Sunday.Frank Roffman, 76, well known resident and farmer of Franklin township for 73 years, passed away Sunday at Postville Hospital, where he had been a patient since last Tuesday. He had been ailing for some time past. Funeral services are being held this afternoon at the Schutte Funeral Home in this city, with the Rev. Frederick R. Ludwig, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church officiating, and interment will be in Minert cemetery.
Mr. Roffman was born in Germany as the son of John and Minnie Blank Roffman December 22, 1871, and as a small child came to the United States with his parents. The family lived for two years in Michigan and then moved to Franklin township, Iowa, which had since been Mr. Roffman's home.
He was united in marriage with Miss Lucy Segrist December 5, 1900, and to this union four children were born. Mr. and Mrs. Roffman lived continuously on the same farm since their marriage.
He is survived by his widow, three children, Earl Roffman of Waukon, Otto of Postville, and Mabel, Mrs. Milton Helgerson, of Castalia; seven grandchildren; one brother, William Roffman, of Luana; three sisters, Mrs. Christ Eckert of Luana, Mrs. John Eckert of Waukon, and Mrs. Henry Van Gorder of Postville. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Harold, in 1923, a brother, John, and two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Lawson and Mrs. Henry Dundee.
