Wm. A. Burdick, a former well known county resident, died in a hospital at St. Paul on Monday following a serious surgical operation. He was, at one time, deputy sherrif of Allamakee county, and later entered the railway mail service with headquarters at St. Paul. He was a son of the late Rowena Burdick of Lansing, and in his days of health was a most genial and companionable man. He was married some years ago to Miss Nora Minnick of Postville and to this union was born one son, Lee, who with the mother survive him.
The remains arrived here Tuesday night from St. Paul and on Wednesday afternoon, following a brief service at the undertaking rooms of Harris & Schutte, conducted by the Rev. J. A. Saathoff, the remains were deposited in Postville cemetery.
The sympathy of many friends goes out to those bereft.
