George F. Oldag was born the 20th of November, 1879, at Eldenburg, Mark Brandenburg, Germany. At the age of four years he came with his parents to this country and lived with them near New Richland, Minn. At the age of 12 years the failing health of his father made it necessary that he earn his own living. In the year 1906, the 17th of October, he was united in marriage to Mathilde Margarethe Foels. This union was blessed with three children - Harold, aged 13 years; Mildred 11 years; and Leonhard 8 years.

For a short time they lived in Wasoca, Wis., after which they moved to a farm two and a half miles northwest of Postville which has since been their home.. For the past five years he has been a patient sufferer from diabetes, from which affliction he passed away on Christmas Eve. He was an industrious and upright man and was esteemed by all who knew him as a good neighbor, citizen and friend.

He was aged 41 years, one month and four days.

Beside his wife and children he leaves to mourn his loss two sisters - Mrs. Anna Grapp of Minneapolis and Mrs. Marie Schultz of New Richland, Wis.

The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon from the Lutheran church, Rev. E. Schmidt officiating. Interment in the Postville cemetery.

In this connection the family wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to their many friends and neighbors for the kindly assistance and words of sympathy during the illness and burial of their beloved husband and father.
