Friedrich Ernst Duewel was born in Lippe - Detmold, Germany, Feb. 26, 1841. When a young man, about 25 years of age, he came to the United States, locating at the home of his brother in Ludlow Township. A few years later he purchased a farm in the same neighborhood on which his entire life was spent.

In 1882 he was united in marriage with Emile Kamin, who with five nephews, three nieces and a host of friends are left to mourn his departure. He Passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 1924, aged 83 years and four months.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Stuebbe at the Salem Reformed Church of Ludlow on Friday afternoon, June 27th. Interment in the Salem Cemetery.
