Contributor: Connie EllisBurial services for Kay H. Godden, age 72, of Waukon, Iowa will be held on Thursday, February 9 at the Rossville Cemetery, Rossville, Iowa. Visitation will be held at the Martin Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00-11:00. Honorary casketbearers will be her grandchildren. Casketbearers will be Dylan Bork, John Baumgartner, Michael Drain, John Hitner, Mark Fraaken, and Matt Ehr. Kay H. Godden died Monday February 6, 2012 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa.
Kay Harlene, daughter of Harold and Leona (Buege) Walters, was born August 9, 1939 in Rossville, Iowa. She attended Rossville Elementary School and Rossville Junior High. Kay lived in Mason City, Iowa and Fayetteville, Arkansas. On March 8, 1974 she married Wallace Godden in Mason City, Iowa. They moved back to the Waukon area in 1998. Kay was a member of the VFW auxiliary in Fayetteville, Arkansas where she served as past president. She enjoyed NASCAR, gardening, working puzzles, and collecting cookbooks and clocks. She loved animals, especially dogs and birds.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Lou Walters; a son, Joseph "Joey" Stone, two daughters, Faith Stone and Debra Green; a granddaughter, Nicole Andregg, and a son-in-law, Barry Green.
Kay Godden is survived by her husband, Wallace, her children, Tina (John Baumgartner) Folsom, Tim Clark of Waukon and Gary Clark of Fayetteville, Arkansas; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Sue Grotegut of Waukon; and 6 step-children, Cindy, Gloria, Wally, Jr., Julie, Marvin, and Tom.
