CARMEN RICE

Carmen Rice passed away peacefully on August 12th in her home. Carmen was born Jan.12, 1920 in San Angelo, Texas and is preceded in death by her husband, Don Rice III. She is survived by her four sisters, Linda Colcord; Jan De Vivier; Mona Lee Valle; Joyce Winter; and 9 nieces and nephews.

Carmen began Classical Spanish and Flamenco dancing professionally at an early age in many nightclubs and theaters across the country, including the Copacabana. She danced until she was 49. She was also in several movies including Flying Down to Rio and Carnival in Costa Rico.

Carmen and Don met in the entertainment business in Chicago and were married over 40 years. Don Rice III was a comedian and they performed in shows together.

Carmen was President of Fashionettes and was very active for years; had many friends in that organization. Carmen was a board member in many charities including the Navy League, Fashionettes, and City of Hope.

Carmen was very loved by her family and friends and will be missed. The service will be held August 28th, 2:30pm at the Little Church of the Flowers at Forest Lawn Park, 1712 S. Glendale Avenue, Glendale, CA.
