Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services for Victor Julius "Jake" Jacobson, age 71, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 26 at the New Albin Town House, with burial in St. Peter United Church of Christ Cemetery in New Albin, Iowa. Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Victor Julius, son of Victor and Elma (Christianson) Jacobson, was born March 7, 1928 in Viroqua, Wisconsin. He served in the US Navy from 1946-1948. On October 30, 1951, Victor married Arlene Seidal. He worked as a police officer and also served as chief of police for the city of New Albin, Iowa.
Victor Julius "Jake" Jacobson died Monday, August 23, 1999 at Thornton Manor Care Center in Lansing, Iowa, following a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Alvin Jacobson, Virgil Jacobson, Earl Jacobson, and two sisters, Violet Jacobson, and Katherin Morrison.
Victor is survived by his wife, Arlene; 3 daughters, Nancy (Bob) Featherston, Victoria (James) Baures, and Patricia Miller; 1 son, Alvin Jacobson; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Albert Jacobson, Ernest Jacobson, and Sander Jacobson; 3 sisters, Alida Bergum, Alberta Halverson, and Margaret Berzinsky.
