A Celebration of Life for Thomas G. Brown, age 73, of Waukon, Iowa was held Tuesday, October 4 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon with Father Joseph Schneider officiating. Private graveside services will be held at a later time.

Thomas, son of Roy and Martha (Dufficy) Brown, was born January 23, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended grade school and high school in the New Ulm, Minnesota and Winona, Minnesota areas, graduating in 1956. He joined the Minnesota National Guard after graduation and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in March of 1957. Tom was honorably discharged as CPL E-4 in March of 1960. Tom married Sharon Sullivan in December 1962. He earned an Associate's Degree in business and Accounting from St. Cloud Business College. He worked in management positions for different companies in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Missouri throughout his life, retiring in 2006. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church and the American Legion.

Thomas G. Brown passed away September 30, 2011 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Richard Brown and Warren Brown, and his step-brothers, Bill Brown and Robert Brown.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Sharon; 3 daughters, Julie (Ron) Peiffer of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, Jane Regan of Waukon, Iowa, and Joan (Todd) Dietrich of Waukon, Iowa; 12 grandchildren Sean Bakke, Cassie Bakke, Brady Bakke, Bree Bakke, Trevor Peiffer, Alexandra Peiffer, Mattison Regan, Taylor Regan, Brandon (Michelle) Dietrich, Dillon Dietrich, Elizabeth (Matt) Doubek, and Abigail Dietrich; 3 great-grandchildren, Nolan Bakke, Preston Dietrich, and Natalie Dietrich, with another great-granddaughter due in January; 2 brothers, Pat (Teresa) Brown of Lewiston, Minnesota and Roi Brown of Harmony, Minnesota; a brother-in-law, Dick (Cathy) Sullivan of Waukon, Iowa, and sisters-in-law, Carol Smith of St. Augustine, Florida, Sue Brown of San Jose, California, and Julie Brown of Buffalo, Minnesota.
