Funeral rites were held for John Paul Winters Saturday, October 1, from the Martin funeral home at 1:30 and at Zion Reformed church in Waukon, at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. W.E. Odenbach officiated. Mr. Winters' death occurred at the Postville hospital Wednesday, September 28. He was engaged in farming and had lived in Allamakee county all of his life.
He was born December 7, 1887, and was a son of Simon Winters and Augusta Bruehahn of Jefferson township. He was educated in the local schools and his marriage to Mabel Fulghum took place February 20, 1929 at Postville.
Survivors are his wife, a daughter, Rose Mary, Mrs. Morris Schellhammer, one grandchild and the following brothers and sisters: Alice, Mrs. Floyd Clarke; Minnie, Mrs. Albert Gilson; Myrtle, Mrs. John Carter; Carl, Alfred and Marvin Winters. Three sisters have preceeded him in death.
Mr. winters' burial was in Oakland cemetery.
