Merle W. "Bill" Cole, 69, son of Dr. and Mrs. Wm. Cole, born in Postville, Iowa, March 8, 1895, passed away November 4, 1964 in Abbott Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated from Postville high school in 1913.
He served as supervisor of the Minneapolis Post Office; he was employed by the Postal Department for 35 and a half years. He served in World War I and was a member of the 151st Field Artillery, Rainbow Division. He was an active member of the Clarence LaBelle Post, VFW, Minneapolis.
Mr. Cole is survived by his wife, Mabel, one son, Harry D. Cole; and one daughter, Marilyn, Mrs. Mike Kane, of Minneapolis; four grandchildren; one brother, Dr. H. D. Cole; and one sister, Mrs. Anna Beucher, both of Postville.
Interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, November 9, 1964.
