Word was received by Vivian Turnmeyer of Rossville, Iowa, of the death of her cousin, Zora McCreary, age 81, who passed away on June 20, 1990 at her home in McAlester, Oklahoma. Her ashes were buried in the Rossville Cemetery in Rossville, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James McCreary, and her daughter Elizabeth.

Zora, daughter of Will and Lucy A. (Washburn) Henderson, was born on August 12, 1908 at Rossville, Iowa. She graduated from the Waukon High School in 1926. She married James McCreary in June of 1928 in Waukon, Iowa. She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Simmons of Port Mansfield, Texas, 2 sons, Jim McCreary of Houston, Texas, and Tom McCreary of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren in addition to several cousins living in the Allamakee County area.

NOTE: The transcriber is not related, however, for any family researchers, Zora's family surname does have ties to many allied families in Allamakee County such as Henderson, Walters, Koontz, and Leas.
