Dewey Edward Cowell

Funeral services for Dewey Edward Cowell, 42, of 1111 So. Diamond Lake Road, Dayton, Minnesota, were held at the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home, Osseo, Minnesota, Wednesday, July 20, Mr. Cowell died in Janesville, Wisconsin, July 17, 1977 of a heart attack.

He was born the son of Harley Dewey and Thelma (Powell) Cowell of Postville, on November 24, 1934 in Allamakee County, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Shirley, daughters Teresa Jean of Hiawatha, Iowa; Mrs. Vince (Gloria) Veltri of Inkster, Michigan, Donna and son Robert of Dayton, Minnesota; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Cowell of Postville; two brothers, James of McGregor and Donald of Clermont; two sisters, Ethel (Lawrence) Odegard of Cashton, Wisconsin and Ruby (Arlo) Klein of Marion, Iowa.

Interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Fort Snelling, Minnesota.

Relatives attending the funeral were the Harley Cowells of Postville; Mr. and Mrs. James Cowell, Linda and Todd Miller, McGregor; Mr. and Mrs. William Powell and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Powell and Lisa, Luana; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cowell, Clermont; Mrs. Arlo Klein and son Kerry of Marion; Louis Powell, Waukon; Mr. and Mrs. Owen Myhre, Dorchester; Teresa Jean Cowell, Hiawatha; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Powell, Fort Dodge; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Odegard, Alert, Myron, Carlton and Robert, Cashton, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. James Odegard, Viroqua, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Gary Shafer, Spring Valley, Wisconsin and Mrs. Otis Stockton, Normal, Illinois.
