At her residence in Postville, Iowa at 2 p.m. October 11, 1889, Dora Hartley, wife of W. D. "Dell" Hartley, aged 20 years, 8 months, and 13 days passed away. Mrs. Dora Hartley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Erickson who reside near Caledonia, Minnesota. She was born January 28th, 1869 in Houston, Minnesota. She united with the Lutheran Church on July 5th, 1885. She married W. D. Hartley on October 27, 1888 and moved with him to Postville, Iowa a few months ago.

Last winter she was taken with a grippe from the effects of which she never recovered but gradually faded away, and when the autumn leaves were gently falling she peacefully went to her rest with the happy thought of meeting her darling baby boy, who had gone ahead of her but a few weeks before her. She was a gentle loving wife and made many friends wherever she went. All through her sickness and suffering she born it with a meekness and patience that only a christian spirit could sustain. She leaves a large circle of relatives and friends who mourn her loss.

We hereby return our sincere thanks to the many friends who so kindly assisted us through all the sickness and deaths of our dear ones.
