Wm. Mulcahy, insane, of whom we made mention a week or two ago, was found, or at least a portion of his remains was found near his home this week. The body was nearly all devoured by wolves or other wild animals. - Waukon Democrat

~Notes: The 1880 US census, Taylor twp., Allamakee co., June 1, enumerates Hannorah Mulcahy, age 30, b. Canada as the head-of-household. Her husband William, age 38 b. Maryland, is annotated as "Missing from Home" and insane. Their son John, was age 11 months.
1885 Iowa State census, Hannah Mulcahy & son John, age 5, are in Taylor twp.
1895 Iowa State census, Hanorah Mulcahy, widow, age 48, is housekeeping in the Nicholas Brazell household in Taylor twp. John is not in the household.
1900 US Census, Hanora Mulcahy, age 50 (b. May 1850), is living with son John, age 20 (b. June 1879) in Waukon. This census indicates that Hanora emigrated in 1861 and that John's father (William) was born in KY. John's occupation is a grocery salesman.
1915 Iowa State census, Hanorah Mulcahy, age 70, is living in Waukon.Interested researchers should check the Waukon Democrat issues from June 1880 for more info. about William Mulcahy.
