A memorial service for former Waukon, Iowa resident, Frances Hinrichs, age 81, was held at Northview United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 8. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa. Carder-Tharp Funeral Home of Bedford, Virginia and Hanson Funeral Home of Waukon, Iowa were in charge of arrangements.

Frances, daughter of John P. and Maud (Hanson) Bieber, was born August 1, 1908 in Waukon, Iowa. She graduated from Waukon High School in 1926 and attended Waukon Junior College. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in Waukon, Waterville, and Dorchester area schools. On July 31, 1937 she married Sylvan Hinrichs in Waukon, Iowa. She was a member of Northview United Methoidst Church in Roanoke, Virginia.

Frances Hinrichs died at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia on Monday, July 2, 1990 following a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1981.

She is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Starnes of rural Dover, Minnesota, a son, John Hinrichs of Roanoke, Virginia, and 4 grandchildren.
