Funeral services for lifetime area resident Ruth Larson, age 88, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Rev. Lynn Groe will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers will be Peter Martindale, Donald Martindale, Dean Johnson, Tom Lensch, Harry Larson, and Richard Loven.

Ruth, daughter of Robert Rasmus and Helena (Gilbertson) Johnson, was born April 6, 1902 in Jefferson Township, Allamakee County, Iowa. On November 24, 1926 she married Adolph J. Larson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its ALCW and the Waukon Senior Citizens.

Ruth died Wednesday, May 23, 1990 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Adolph who died May 12, 1989; 3 brothers, Oscar Johnson, John R. Johnson, and Helmer Johnson; and 4 sisters, Hannah Christine Campbell, Belle Mickey, Gunda Martindale, and Anna Onsager.

Ruth is survived by a sister, Helen Stadsvold and a brother, Robert T. Johnson, both of Waukon, Iowa.
