Funeral services for Joyce Collins were held Friday, May 31, 1991 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville, Iowa. Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service of Postville, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Postville Cemetery. Casket bearers were Garry Meyer, Dennis Dettman, Stan Klotzbach, Don Klotzbach, Roger Radloff, Larry Reed, Darwin Fritz, and Lyle Kneeskern.

Joyce Rose, daughter of Alvin and Selma (Kregel) Dettman, was born May 23, 1928 in Monona Township, near Monona, Iowa. She was baptized June 17, 1928 in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa by the Rev. Albert Daugs and confirmed there March 29, 1942 by the Rev. Herman Siefkes. She received her education in the Evergreen Grove Country School and was graduated from the Luana Consolidated School. On October 30, 1948 she was married to Carlton John Collins in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Monona, Iowa. They had one daughter. They have lived in Postville, Iowa most of their married life. Joyce was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa.

Joyce passed away Tuesday, May 28, 1991 in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics at Iowa City, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her mother Selma Dettman.

Surviving are her husband, Carlton, her daughter, Sherrie Jo; her father, Alvin Dettman; a brother Julius Dettman and a sister, Jeanne Collins, who live in Monona, Iowa.
