Funeral services for Ernest Earl Van Brocklin, age 87, of Waukon, Iowa will be held Wednesday, October 24 at 1:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Chapel in Waukon, Iowa with Rev. Lynn Groe officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa. Casket bearers were Leon Monroe, Art McKee, Walt Boltz, Robert Van Brocklin, Leo Klocke, and Roger Solon.

Ernest Earl Van Brocklin was born April 8, 1903 in Auburn, Fayette County, near West Union, Iowa. He was the son of Mathias and Lavinnie (Conner) Van Brocklin. He attended Lansing Schools. On June 12, 1924 he married Loretta Gander in West Union, Iowa. He was a laborer, worked at Erlich's Fish Market, and the Box Factory of Lansing, Iowa, and was a woodcutter for many years. He lived in the Lansing area most of his life, moving to Waukon, Iowa in 1967.

Ernest died Sunday October 21, 1990 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Herbert Van Brocklin; a sister, Eva Gander, and a brother Dwight Van Brocklin.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta; a daughter, Dorothy (Alvin) Baumbach of Monona, Iowa; a granddaughter, Amber Sutton; 2 great-grandchildren, and a brother Harold Van Brocklin of Lansing, Iowa.
