Funeral services were held for Helen Evelyn Ericson, age 74, Wednesday, December 10 at 1 p.m. at the Center Baptist Church. The Rev. Mark Aurand and Rev. Bill Patterson officiated. Burial was in the Center Baptist Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Roger Ericson, Arlyn Clair, Virgil Reetz, Neal Reetz, Nathan Aldrich, and Alvin Lynes.

Helen died Saturday January 6, 1989 in Northgate Manor Care Center in Waukon, Iowa. She was born July 31, 1915 to Edward and Lydia (Wendel) Dee in Mays Prairie area of Allamakee County, Iowa. She received her education in rural Mays Prairie Schools. On October 8, 1938 she married Edgar L. Ericson in Davenport, Iowa.

She was a lifetime area resident, a farm wife, homemaker, and also worked for ten years as a nurse's aide at Northgate Manor from 1969 to 1979. She was a member of Center Baptist Church, where she was affiliated with the Center Baptist Church Women's group, Women's Missionary Society, and also taught Sunday School there for several years. She enjoyed doing handiwork, gardening and baking, and also liked to travel with her husband.

Helen was preceded in death by her grandson, Daniel Nesheim, and a brother Delbert Dee.

Survivors include her husband, Edgar; a daughter, Darlene (Lynn) Nesheim of Waukon, Iowa; 2 brothers, Cletus Dee of Lansing, Iowa and Harris Dee of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and a granddaughter, Cynthia Nesheim.
