Lena (Schlitter) Linville - 1919-2000

Funeral services for Lena Linville were held Thursday, May 4, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at Schultz Funeral Home, Monona, Iowa. Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiated. Burial was in the Sixteen Cemetery, rural Monona, Iowa. Schultz Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Lena Pearl, daughter of Otto and Pearl (Cahoon) Schlitter, was born February 9, 1919 at Waukon, Iowa. Lena was united in marriage to Wallace A. Linville on June 24, 1937 at St. John's Methodist Church, Davenport, Iowa.The couple lived in Davenport, Iowa for many years. She was employed at Nichols Home Schield in Davenport for 30 years. In 1975 they moved to Harpers Ferry, Iowa. Following her husband's death, Lena moved to Monona, Iowa. Lena died Sunday April 30, 2000 at the Great River Care Center, McGregor, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wallace who died October 29, 1990; a daughter-in-law, Patricia; 4 sisters, Carrie Genz, Hazel Letterman, Dorothy Ellis, and Laura Valley; and 4 brothers, Harold Schlitter, Raymond Schlitter, Leo Schlitter, and Henry Schlitter.

She is survived by a son, Alvin Linville of Wolf Point, Montana; 3 grandchildren, Mark Wilson, DeeDee Pearl Linville and Teri Jean Linville; 2 sisters, Bertha Swanson of Muscatine, Iowa and Agnes Melsha of Davenport, Iowa; 1 brother Fred "Fritz" Schlitter of Bettendorf, Iowa and a host of other relatives and friends.
