Donald B. Bigler, age 80, of Evansdale, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at home. Funeral services were held on Friday, June 18 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo, Iowa. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball in Waterllo, Iowa.

Donald was born January 11, 1930 in Postville, Iowa, son of Louis and Amanda (Jauert) Bigler. He married Mary Fischer on January 1, 1948 in Clermont, Iowa. They later divorced. He married Ethel Henry on July 20, 1974 in Waterloo, Iowa. He worked at the dock and powerhouse for Rath Packing company for 33 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Rath Retirees, the National Trappers Association, and a former member of the Eagles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Louis Bigler, a sister Leoma Bigler, a granddaughter, Cody Henry, and a step-son, Raymond Henry.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel; 4 sons, Ric (Marilyn) Bigler of Olympia, Washington, Dan (Cheryl) Bigler of Evansdale, Iowa, David (Barb) Bigler, also of Evansdale, Iowa, and Ben (Jill) of Independence, Iowa; 3 daughters, Leona Bigler of Evansdale, Iowa, Joyce (Ron) Stohr of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and Sandi (Calvin) Horn of Elk Run Heights, Iowa; a sister, Sister Mary Lou Bigler of Dubuque, Iowa; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
