Phyllis was united in marriage with her much-loved childhood sweetheart, Marvin Hyde, December 12, 1949 in Manchester. There were no children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orin J. Durey, originally from Manchester, and Ruth Eliza Miner Durey, originally of rural Beadle County, SD; her husband, Marvin Hyde, of Huron, SD; and her brothers, Orin J. Durey, Jr. of Annapolis, MD and Charles Miner Durey of Red Oak.
She is survived by her brother, Major Richard Albert Durey, U.S. Army, Retired, of rural Jonesborough, TN; and many nieces and nephews. She was especially close to Martin Hyde, who spent many summers with them at their cabin in Minnesota.
Phyllis had a fond interest in the New Albin Public Library, contributing to it through the years. She was also very involved with the founding of the Community Center in New Albin.
The Thornburg-DeVries Funeral Home in Lansing was in charge of arrangements.
