Former Wahpeton, North Dakota resident, Harriet G. Holthusen, age 92, died Wednesday, July 9, 1986 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. Services were held Saturday, July 12 at 2 p.m. at the Wahpeton Methodist Church with the Rev. Winkelman officiating. Burial was in the Wahpeton, North Dakota Fairview Cemetery.

Harriet was born June 28, 1894 in Peru, Nebraska to Joseph and Sarah E. (Wallingford) Glasgow. She attended Peru State Teachers College, Peru, Nebraska, Columbia School of Music, Chicago, Illinois and the University School of Music, Lincoln, Nebraska. She spent some time in stage productions as a professional actress and taught in Nebraska, Bozeman, Montana, and Wahpeton, North Dakota. She married George W. Holthusen on July 8, 1925 in Humboldt, Nebraska. He died in 1965 and is also buried at the Fairview Cemetery in North Dakota. She was a member of the Wahpeton Methodist Church and the PEO.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Bert Glasgow, Hal Glasgow, and Joe Glasgow; and two sisters, Mae and Iva.

Surviving are two daughters, Rae Beardmore of Dorchester, Iowa, and Barbara Peterson of Cave Creek, Arizona; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
