Feuerhelm, age 65, a resident of rural Eastman, Wisconsin since 1979 and a former resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa from 1948 to 1979 died Sunday, May 11, 1986 at the Prairie Living Center, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin following a lengthy illness. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 15 (today) at the Murdoch-Linwood Chapel in Cedar Rapids, Iowa conducted by Dr. Nadim Saikaly of the Olivet Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He was born February 1, 1921 in Allamakee County, Iowa, the son of Samuel and Emma (Straate) Feuerhelm. He married LaVerna Lois Hegland in Preston, Minnesota on January 27, 1968. He was a veteran of the Navy during World War II. Before his retirement in 1978, he had been employed for 25 years as a welder at FMC. He was a member of the Olivet Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Kenneth Feuerhelm and a sister Althea.
He is survived by his wife LaVerna of Eastman, Wisconsin; 2 step-sons, Roger Zeien and Tommy Zeien, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 3 step-daughters, Judy Jones, Madelyn Fowler, and Barbara Nemec, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 14 step-grandchildren; a brother, James Feuerhelm of Shellsburg, Iowa; 5 sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Grace) Procok, Mrs. James (Arlene) Ewing, Mrs. Noel (Delores) Tollefson, and Mrs. John (Dorothy) Fields, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Lorraine Aud of Merrillville, Indiana.
