Robert W. Griffith, age 75, of Tucson, Arizona died Sunday February 1, 1987 in Tucson, Arizona. He was a retired colonel of the U.S. Air Force. Funeral services were held at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Tucson, Thursday February 5 with Father Don Hutchinson officiating. Burial was in the Holy Hope Cemetery in Tucson with military services.

Robert was born August 11, 1911 *name of parents and place of birth was not listed.* He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point in June of 1937. He married Margaret Hutchinson in July of 1937 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret; 3 sons, Robert Griffin, Jr. of Binghamton, New York; Thomas Griffin of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Michael Griffin of Tucson, Arizona; a sister Mrs. John (Jane) Myles of Portland, Oregon; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Catherine "Jennie" Hutchinson of Northgate Manor, Waukon, Iowa, and a brother-in-law, Father Don Hutchinson, pastor at St. Mary's Catholic Church, McGregor, Iowa and St. Pius Catholic Church, Cherry Mound in Allamakee County.
