Rose (Deviney) Core, who would have turned 100 years old in February 1987, and who was from the Waukon-Lycurgus area, died at a nursing home in Minneapolis, Minnesota in December 1986. Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Rose was born February 3, 1887 in French Creek Township, Allamakee County, Iowa to Thomas and Rose (Welch) Deviney. Her siblings were John Deviney, Martin Deviney, Anna (Deviney) Killian, Mary (Deviney) Miller, and Sadie (Deviney) Dibble
