Alice M. Meiners, age 88, of Eitzen, Minnesota, died Wednesday, March 11, 1986 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 15, at 2 p.m. at St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Eitzen, Minnesota with the Rev. Lloyd Fried officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Haugen-Roble Funeral Home of Caledonia, Minnesota in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Dana, LeRoy, and Fred Meiners, Chester Fruechte, Kevin and Joe Emerson, Tracy Thompson, and Mike Hart.

Alice was born March 28, 1898 in Union City Township, Allamakee County, Iowa to Louis and Mathilda (Bunge) Deters. She married Walter Meiners in May 1918 in Eitzen, Iowa. They farmed in rural Eitzen. Walter died February 19, 1954. She was a member of St. Luke's U.C.C., Eitzen, and the women's fellowship church group.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Howard Meiners, and two sisters, Alma and Emma.

Surviving are a son, Gilbert Meiners of Eitzen, Minnesota, a daughter Emma "Chris" Emerson of Waterville, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Edward Deters of Eitzen, Minnesota and Harold Deters of Waukon, Iowa and 2 sisters, Margaret Albee of Ephrata, Washington, and Esther Albee of Buhl, Idaho.
