Funeral for Mrs. Koehring Held Monday

Mrs. Frieda Kohring, 66, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Schellhammer of Glenwood township, Winneshiek county, Friday, January 30. A few weeks ago she underwent an operation at Rochester from which she never recovered.

She was born in Germany September 7, 1881, and resided there until nine months ago she made her fourth trip to this country, intending to remain here with her children. Mrs. Koehring was twice married in Germany, her first husband being Carl Viet, who passed away. Later she married Albert Koehring, a widower. He remained in Germany with his children

Besides her husband, Mrs. Koehring is survived by two daughters and a son, Mrs. JohnSchellhammer, Mrs. Julius Rissman, Lansing and William Viet of Kansas City, Mo., who came to attend the funeral services. There are also two brothers and a sister in Germany. She had seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at Martin's funeral home, conducted by Rev. Edmond Hennig. Burial followed at Oakland cemetery, with Leo Ferring, Adolph Larson, Art Smith, Charles Rissman, Wm. Berger and John Mangel serving as pall bearers.
