Funeral services were held Saturday, July 18 at 11 a.m. for Robert S. Anderson, age 79, who died Thursday, July 16, 1987 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. Pastor Mark Aurand officiated at the services held at Center Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Roger Kruger, Robert J. Anderson, Gene Schogren, Lester Shogren, Chad Aldrich, and Henry Grangaard, Jr.

Robert was born November 18, 1907 in Waukon, Iowa to John and Hannah (Johnson) Anderson. He attended Waukon High School and Waukon Junior College. He married Melvina Grangaard on May 15, 1940 in Waterville, Iowa. Melvina died on May 9, 1974. He was a dairy farmer and hog farmer. He was a member of Center Baptist Church where he was a church trustee, Farm Bureau, and director of Calhoun Creamery.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother Charles Anderson and a sister, Grace.

Surviving are four sons: Kenneth Anderson of Waukon, Iowa, Richard Anderson of Milan, Illinois, David Anderson of Sterling, Illinois, and Gerald Anderson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Clifford Anderson of Waukon, Iowa, Herbert Anderson of DeWitt, Iowa and Edmund Anderson of Lansing, Iowa.
