Mary C. Gallagher, age 93, of Waukon, Iowa died Monday, June 29, 1987 at Thornton Manor in Lansing, Iowa. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 1 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Father Ed Lechtenberg performed the 10 a.m. services with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa. Hanson Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were John Campbell, John Kerndt, Robert Anderson, Ken Brandt, Bill Waldron, and Francis Plein.

Mary was born August 17, 1893 in Minnesota to Martin and Elizabeth Collins. She attended high school and was a country school teacher in the Waukon area. On June 26, 1919 she married Patrick H. Gallagher at St. Mary's Catholic
Church, Hanover, in Allamakee County, Iowa. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Church and VFW auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick.

Surviving are four children: Francis J. Gallagher of Seattle, Washington, Patrick Gallagher of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Carl (Mary) Ladico of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mrs. Bernard (Rosanna) Mayer of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Margaret Ryan of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Martinia Buckman of East Dubuque, Iowa, Elizabeth Wertz of Kankakee, Illinois and a brother, Martin Collins of McGregor, Iowa.
