Cornelius "Nick" Strub, age 81, of New Albin, Iowa, died Thursday October 22, 1987 in St. Francis Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 24 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Albin, Iowa. The Rev. Charipar officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home of Lansing, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Steve Strub, Mike Strub, Charles Hale, Mark Fink, Christ Fink, and Roger Thimmesch.

Nick was born April 15, 1906 in Lansing, Iowa to Frank and Catherine (Ferring) Strub. He married Marcella L. Conway on January 29, 1929 in Harpers Ferry, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Theresa, Florence, Lillian, Catherine, and Agnes, and 5 brothers, Joseph, Frank, Clarence, Vincent, and Mark.

Survivors are his wife; 3 sons, Charles Strub of Rickardsville, Iowa, Earl Strub of Cumberland, Wisconsin, and Daniel Strub of St. Paul, Minnesota; 4 daughters, Marcella Hale of Hastings, Minnesota, Margaret Fink of Waterloo, Iowa, Ann Thimmesch of Topeka, Kansas, and Bernice Ott of New Albin, Iowa; 29 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a brother Raphael Strub of Dubuque, Iowa and 2 sisters, Mildred Bookholder of Freeport, Illinois and Rita Garrett of Lansing, Iowa.
