Funeral services for Mabel Christofferson were held Thursday, August 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Julius L. Peterson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery. Casket bearers were Tony Lauerman, Kenneth Kolar, Chris Gunderson, David Gunderson, Forest Kelly, and Tennis Mork.

Mabel was the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth (Kluss) Dahms. She was born January 13, 1904 in Fayette County, Iowa. She died Monday night, August 11, 1986 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. She was baptized March 30, 1904 by the Rev. Boeckleman. She was confirmed April 16, 1916 by the Rev. W.A. Harms. She attended the local rural schools near her home. On June 28, 1928 she was married to Elbe Christofferson in the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived all of their lives in Postville where her husband was employed as a carpenter. She worked as a clerk in Palmquist's Department Store and other retail stores. For the past three years she had been living in senior citizen housing at Waukon, Iowa. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church and the LCW in Postville, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband who died in 1965; 2 grandchildren Anthony Lauerman and Anne Lauerman; and 5 brothers, Harvey Dahms, Gilbert Dahms, Earl Dahms, Clarence Dahms, and Lloyd Dahms.

She is survived by a daughter, Ileta and her husband, Ed Lauerman, Jr. of Waukon, Iowa; a grandson Tony Lauerman of Waukon, Iowa and 2 granddaughters, Jennifer and her husband Kenneth Kolar of Waunakee, Wisconsin, and Kim Lauerman of Waukon, Iowa; a brother, Wayne Dahms of Castalia, and two sisters, Ethel Meyer of Postville, Iowa and Lorene Dahms of Madison, Wisconsin.
