Edward Francis Mahoney, age 72, died Monday June 23, 1986 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa where he was a resident. Services were held Wednesday, June 25 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Larry Duenas officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Ray O' Hare, Mike Mahoney, Ken Troendle, Dennis Dahlstrom, Thomas Turner, and Michael Smith.

Edward was born January 28, 1914 in Waukon, Iowa to Patrick J. and Rose (McCormick) Mahoney. He attended Waukon schools and St. Patrick's school. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He was the owner of Mahoney's Tavern in Waukon, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Marie Taylor and 3 brothers, Joseph Mahoney, Earl Mahoney, and John LeRoy Mahoney who died in infancy.

Surviving are four nieces, Patricia Smith and Joanne Turner of Zion, Illinois, Mary Crose of Cary, Illinois and Mary Goellner of Lutz, Florida. Also surviving are 23 great-nieces and nephews.
