Cora Irons, age 92, of Savanna, Illinois, died Sunday, July 6, 1986 at Harbor Creek Nursing Home, Fulton, Illinois. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna Township Cemetery. The Rev. Dayre Newport officiated.

Mrs. Irons was born March 16, 1894 in Dorchester, Iowa to George and Louise (Paus) Weber. She married John V. Irons on November 21, 1921. They made their home in New Albin, Iowa.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Young of Savanna, Illinois and Mrs. Robert (Isabelle) Marth of Glenview, Illinois; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, five sisters and two brothers. In addition, she was preceded in death by a son, Garland Irons who died the same day, Sunday, July 6, 1986 at a Dubuque, Iowa hospital following a long illness. Funeral services for Garland Irons, age 57, were held Tuesday, July 8 at 2 p.m. at Frank Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. The Rev. Cyrus Pollad conducted the service. Garland was born June 20, 1929 at New Albin, Iowa. He is survived by his wife Mary, 4 children,3 grandchildren, and a half-sister.* her name was not listed*.
