Elsie S. Buntrock, age 86, of Decorah, Iowa died Wednesday, August 20, 1986, at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital in Decorah, Iowa. Services were held Saturday, August 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. David W. Ash officiating. Burial was in the Lansing Ridge Cemetery with Fjelstul Funeral Home of Decorah, Iowa in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Dale Buntrock, Dale Hartong, Lester Wiemerslage, Jack Halverson, Irving Eittreim, and Harold Kerndt.

Elsie was born February 4, 1900 in Churchtown to Henry and Emma (Roth) Marti. She attended rural schools in Allamakee County, Iowa. On April 22, 1925 she married Arthur Buntrock in Churchtown, Iowa. He died in 1976. She had lived in Churchtown, Westgate, Calmar, and moved to Decorah in 1941. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Friendship Group, United Methodist Women, and World War I Barracks.

Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, three sisters, and five brothers.

Surviving is a daughter, Jean Schwender of Decorah, Iowa.
