Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Former Waukon resident Jack Riley, age 39 of Elkader, Iowa died Monday, March 2, 1987 in Elkader, Iowa. Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa with Father Edward Lechtenberg officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Honorary casket bearers were Dave Hutchins, John Campbell, Ed WiKan, and Ken Krambeer.
Jack was born December 30, 1947 in Decorah, Iowa to Francis and Mary (Pettit) Riley. He attended St. Patrick's High School, Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa and Career Academy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He had lived in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Waukon, Iowa, and Elkader, Iowa. In Prairie du Chien he had been a chef at Jeffer's Supper Club and at the time of his death, he was a chef at Johnson's Supper Club in Elkader, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother James Riley.
Survivors include his mother, Mary; a brother Mike Riley of Ossian, Iowa, and 5 sisters, Cyndi Riley of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Greg (Patti) Hastings of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, and Mrs. Ed (Janie) Schulte, Mrs. Bob (Mary Jo) Kelly, and Virginia Riley, all of Waukon, Iowa.
