Norma G. Nelson, age 65, of Winter Park, Florida died Wednesday, December 24, 1986 in Winter Park. Memorial services were held Saturday, December 27 at 10 a.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Winter Springs, Florida. Waukon memorial services will be held Wednesday, December 31 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waukon, Iowa with the Revs. Nelson Preus, Gordon Smedsrud, and Lynn Groe officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers will be Orrin Grangaard, Ken Grosch, Robert Grangaard, Robert Gronna, and James Fisher.

Norma was born August 30, 1921 in Waukon to Orrin and Ruth (Johnson) Grangaard. She attended Waukon schools and Luther College, Decorah, Iowa. She married Ralph Nelson on June 19, 1943 at First Lutheran Church in Decorah. She was a homemaker and a teacher at Monona, Iowa and Postville, Iowa. She was a member of "The Branches" prayer group at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Winter Springs.

Surviving are her husband, Ralph; 2 daughters, Helen Fisher of Orlando, Florida and Trudi Bond of Pensacola, Florida; 4 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Marilyn Preus of Fridley, Minnesota and Rosalie Grosch of Stanchfield, Minnesota and a brother Orrin Grangaard of Waterville, Iowa.
