Lifetime area resident Dorothy Arlene Welper, age 55, of Waukon, Iowa died at her home Monday, November 17, 1986. Services were held Wednesday, November 19 at 1:30 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Shelly officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Gene Knox, Danny Cole, Godon Rask, David Heidemann, Floyd Ingles, and Gary Rumph.

Dorothy was born February 1, 1931 in Allamakee County to Harold and Pearl (Ingles) Heidemann. She attended rural area schools and married William Welper on August 19, 1948 in Anamosa, Iowa. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; 2 daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Marsha) Benda of Waukon, Iowa and Mrs. Darrell (Lou Ann) Busness of LaCrescent, Minnesota; a son, Dean Welper of Waukon, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Harold Heidemann, Jr. of Lisbon, Iowa and Charles Heidemann of Waterloo, Iowa; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Harold (Ruth) Cole of Lansing, Iowa and Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) Carter of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
