Fomer Waukon resident, Jessie E. Hawkins, age 84, died Sunday February 23, 1986 at the Maple Lawn Care Home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Services were held Tuesday, February 25 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Rev. Floyd Conroy officiated. Burial was in the Cedar Memorial Park in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Jessie was born March 13, 1901 to Robert and Eunice (Jenkins) Flack in Allamakee County, Iowa. She married Sidney Lee Hawkins on November 10, 1919 in Waukon, Iowa. They lived in Allamakee County before moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1954. Sidney died February 29, 1972.*Leap Year*

Survivors include 4 daughters, Genevieve Inger of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Madonna Halverson of Waukon, Iowa, Ruth Inger of Marion, Iowa, and Eunice Kolowinski of Robins, Iowa; 3 sons, Edwin Hawkins of Waukon, Iowa, Marvin Hawkins of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, and Robert Hawkins of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a sister, Orpha Ellefson of Charles City, Iowa; 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
