Mabel C. Hanson, age 87, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa died Saturday, December 7, 1985 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. Funeral services are set for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, December 10 at Old East Paint Creek Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor April Larson will conduct the services. In charge of arrangements is Martin Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Harley Gullickson, Marvin Ihde, Ray Odegard, and Marty, Roger, and Scott Melcher.

A homemaker, she was born in Waterville, Iowa February 9, 1898, a daughter of Gullick and Martha (Nelson) Gullickson. She attended local schools and married Alert Hanson on May 26, 1917 in Allamakee County, Iowa. He died May 17, 1965.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Harry Gullickson.

Mrs. Hanson is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John (Virgel) Melcher of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Kellison of Waukon, Iowa.
