Postville,Iowa resident Raymond M. Snitker, age 71, died Wednesday December 4, 1985 at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville, Iowa. Funeral services were held Friday, December 6, 1985 at Salem United Church of Christ. The Rev. John Saxton conducted the 1 p.m. services. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Glenn Spiegler, Roger Hansmeier, Tom Regan, Merlin Hansmeier, Forest Lang, and Robert Schultz. Martin Funeral Home, Waukon was in charge of arrangements.

A farmer, he was a born in Winneshiek County on November 16, 1914, the son of Herman and Emma (Lang) Snitker. He attended local schools and was a member of Salem United Church of Christ where he held various church offices. He and Geneva Flage were married in Allamakee County on February 19, 1941.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Roland Snitker.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva; a son Curtis Snitker of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Rick (Pamela) Woods of Brownsville, Minnesota; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Lucille Ludeking of Waukon, Iowa and Mrs. Rebecca Hendrickson of McGregor, Iowa; and 2 brothers, Willard Snitker and Wesley Snitker, both of Postville, Iowa.
