Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Waukon resident Edmond White, age 90, died Friday October 25, 1985 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, Iowa. Funeral services were held Monday morning October 28 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon with Rev. Henry Heinbuch officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leonard Hanson, Paul Waldron, John Hausman, Emmett Kruger, Kenneth Troendle, and John Campbell.
Mr. White was a farmer, carpenter, and road construction worker who was born in Franklin Township in Allamakee County on July 12, 1895, a son of Walter Jr. and Cleora (Ewing) White. He attended local schools and married Mae E. Homan on July 4, 1930 in Waukon, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and was a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of Forest Mills Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife. Preceding him in death were brothers and sisters, Vida, John, Elmer, Iva, Alice, Ernie, and Lois.
