Former Waukon, Iowa resident, George Francis Troendle, age 57, died December 23, 1985 in Long Beach, California. The Rev. Albert Manternach celebrated the December 28 mass at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa. Hanson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Cletus Mathis, Daniel Mathis, Tom Troendle, Jerry Troendle, Steven Troendle, and Gene Sweeney.

George was born February 29, 1928 *Must have been Leap Year. This date of birth is verified by the Social Security Index.* in Lansing, Iowa, son of Silas and Loretta (McLaughlin) Troendle. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa. He was educated at St. Patrick's School and was a retired veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by a sister, who died in infancy.

He is survived by his parents, Silas and Loretta Troendle; 2 brothers, Kenneth and John Troendle; and 4 sisters, Janet Hite, Joan Robey, Patricia Sorensen, and Joyce Regan.
