Meier of Rochester, Minnesota, formerly of the Waukon, Iowa area, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, Iowa. The Rev. Lynn Groe will be in charge. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Waukon, Iowa. Pallbearers will be Lyle Moe, Tim Suddendorf, David, Dennis, and Earl Nigon, and Warren Brainard. Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mary O. Meier, age 77, died Saturday, September 28, 1985 at the Rochester Health Care Center. She was born in Allamakee County on September 13, 1908 to John and Lydia (Fish) Vickery. She attended local schools and was a restaurant cook. Her first husband, Earl C. Renne, died October 26, 1936 in an accident at Harpers Ferry, Iowa, and her second husband, Elmer Meier, whom she married in 1946, died in October of 1968. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son Earl Renne, Jr. and 3 brothers, Thomas Edward Vickery, Dale Vickery, and Ray Vickery.
She is survived by 5 daughters: Mrs. Edwin (Dorothy) Nigon, Mrs. Donald (Donna) Peterson, Mrs. Robert (Rita) Suddendorf and Mrs. Gilman (Sue) Moe of Rochester, Minnesota and Phyllis Renne of Wyoming. She is also survived by a brother, David Vickery and a sister, Mrs. Vernie Brainard, both of Illinois.
