Funeral services for Nick Wagner, age 72, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa were held August 24 at Immaculate Conception Church, Wexford, Iowa. Rev. John Smith conducted the 11 a.m. services assisted by Rev. Robert Rahe, Rev. Donald Hawes, and Rev. Cletus Hawes. Burial was in the Wexford Cemetery. Hanson Funeral Home in Waukon, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Carl Mullarkey, Steve O'Neill, Virgil Whittle, Harold Manning, Paul Gavin, Francis Wagner, and Mickey Madden. Honorary pallbearers were Francis Kernan, Ray Crowe, Maynard Garlow, Urban Hawes, Larry McGovern, Lloyd Meehan, and James Delaney.

Nick died Wednesday, August 21, 1985 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. He was an Allamakee County, Iowa farmer, born September 11, 1912 in Lansing to Joseph and Mae (Whalen) Wagner. He and Geraldine Kelly were married at Cherry Mound on November 3, 1937 St. Pius Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Marguerite. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine; a daughter, Rita Wagner of Freeport, Illinois; a son Raymond Wagner of Lansing, Iowa; 3 grandchildren Tom, Julie, and Paul; sisters, Ann Callahan of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, Mary Hammell of Waukon, Iowa, Helen Peters of Lansing, Iowa, and Rita Barry of Dubuque, Iowa.
