Hazel E. Schon, age 88, of Waukon, Iowa died Friday, June 6, 1986 at Veterans Memorial Hospital. Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday June 9 at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Patterson officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery with Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were David Schon, Jeff Schon, Jay Schon, Dale Schon, James Meier, and Larry Orth.

Hazel was born Jaunuary 2, 1898 in Allamakee County, Iowa to John and Mary Saphronia (Ahlstrom) Shogren. She attended local schools and married John K. Schon on February 16, 1916 in Allamakee County, Iowa. He died in 1975. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband and 2 brothers, Raymond Schogren and Roland Schogren.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Herman of Waukon, Iowa; 2 sons, Ralph Schon and Donald Schon, both of Waukon, Iowa; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Florence Larson of Moline, Illinois.
