Edward H. Witt, age 82, of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, died Wednesday July 13, 1988 in Bethany-St.Joseph Care Center. Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday in First Evangelical Lutheran Church, LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The Rev. Roger Sachs officiated. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, LaCrescent, Minnesota.

Edward was born in rural Winona County, Minnesota on December 11, 1905 to August and Ida (Mienert) Witt. On September 25, 1925 he married Gladys Johnson in LaCrescent, Minnesota. He was a lifelong member of First Evangelical Church. He had worked for Electric Auto-Lite until its closing and later for LaCro Products until retiring in 1970.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Survivors are 4 daughters, Ida Mae Leppert of Waukon, Iowa, Sharon Weymiller of New Albin, Iowa, Dianne Lesnick of Muskego, Wisconsin, and Sandra Bohach of Decorah, Iowa; a son, Kenneth Witt of LaCrescent, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Dorothy Rohrer of Brownsville, Minnesota, Violet Wilson and Cordelia Leibel, both of Onalaska, Wisconsin; and a brother, Arthur Witt of West Salem, Wisconsin.
