Funeral services were held Thursday, March 17 for May Belle Dee, age 74, of rural Lansing, Iowa who died Tuesday, March 15, 1988 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa. Pastor Tom Mattson officiated at the 2 p.m. services held at the United Methodist Church in Lansing, Iowa. Burial was in Mays Prairie Cemetery with Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home of Lansing in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Lee and Neal Feuerhelm, Nathan Aldrich, Roger Ericson, and Gary and Greg Hirth.

Mrs. Dee was born November 4, 1913 in North Dakota to John and Sophia Mary (Bernsconi) Layer. On June 26, 1935 she married Cletus Dee in Lansing. She was a member of the Lansing Ridge United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Cletus; 2 daughters, Judy Hartong of Lansing and Cheryl Baas of Warner Robins, Georgia; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 4 sisters, Helen Hirth of Waukon, Iowa, Mrs. Ruth Feuerhelm of Lansing, Iowa, Alyce Feuerhelm and Edna Layer, both of Des Moines, Iowa.
